Of interest is that for all these efforts, I did not find evidence that these educators had ever personally experienced any negative consequences to their careers. They were able to detail the risks they feared, but did not note actual occurrences. Perception of Risks to Career Attempting to be activists in the education career posed professional risks for the educators. For the more experienced educators, it was less of a consideration than for those in the middle of their careers; however, all recognized the potential dangers.
